Title of Submission:  Much More than Just Your Daily News

Each morning, Alabama’s Morning News with JT uses the resources of Alabama’s largest radio news team, combined with cutting edge entertaining and informative interviews to bring Birmingham drivers everything they need to know before they get to work.  The program does traffic and weather 6 times an hour, and featured interviews with the biggest newsmakers on issues that matter to Birmingham.  JT accomplishes all of this in a warm and friendly non-confrontational way, casting a wide net to bring in listeners from all formats.  In doing so, the show goes beyond the typical appeal of a news-talk show to become a destination for listeners of all formats who seek relevant and useful information in a timely manner.

But Alabama’s Morning News with JT is about more than just the “news”. Our listeners sometimes want to get away from the biggest stories of the day and instead unwind with the lighter fare. Including, relating not only to JT, but with Newscaster Leah Brandon and Producer Wade Smith.

In the included submission, JT has some fun moments with all the cast members of the Alabama’s Morning News family.

Additionally, JT and the show love the city of Birmingham. Any time Alabama’s Morning News can update the listeners on what’s happening in town…they jump at it.

In 2017, Birmingham native Taylor Hicks released a new album and Alabama’s Morning News with JT was one of the first to bring Taylor and his song to the public.

Events like Birmingham Restaurant Week and Birmingham Barons games bring opportunities to our listeners to get out of the house a few times a week. See examples of how JT not only brings the event to our listeners but includes how the event helps those less fortunate in our city as well.
