Jefferson County Commission Okays Shipt Incentives

The Commission has approved $720,000 in incentives for Shipt. That goes along with the more than $1 million pledged by the Birmingham City Council to keep the online grocery delivery service headquartered in the city where it got its start. Governor Kay Ivey says the expansion of Shipt will create more than 880 jobs. In a press release, she says..in part: By simplifying life with innovative technology for personalized grocery delivery, Shipt is positioned for rapid growth.”. The Governor adds: "We’re committed to helping the company develop and attract the talent it needs to fuel its expansion plans in Alabama’s ‘Magic City.’”
