Helena Man Dies Saving Daughter from Rip Current

A Helena man died on Father's Day, after rescuing his daughter from a rip current in Panama City Beach, authorities said. Christopher Pierce, 47, was able to save the girl, but was overcome by the treacherous surf conditions, according to the police chief. Pierce was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. Police say at the time of the incident, double red flags were flying, indicating that swimming was prohibited.
